Rare Pair Fest Letter
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I have really been posting a lot of exchange letters lately, so feel free to trawl through those too, using the "dear creator" tag, although I borrow from them a lot.
General likes: forced proximity, curtain fic/domestic fic, hurt/comfort, apocalypse/post-apocalyptic fic, post-apocalyptic curtainfic (lol), open endings, family dynamics, traveling and/or road trips, sex pollen, Groundhog Day stories, slow burns, stories about friendship, friends-to-lovers, friends-to-FWB-to-lovers, teamfic, AUs (especially of the canon-divergent variety), and ethical quandaries.
General dislikes: straight-up non-con/rape, kid fic/next gen/pregnancy fic, on-screen wedding ceremonies or marriage proposals, soulmates/True Love, sexual appearances by non-sexual bodily fluids (non-sexual appearances are fine, if that makes sense), and standard declarations of love (nonverbal expressions of caring/love are great).
I have zero preferences about ratings; stuff I read and look at regularly run the gamut from G to E. I would be happy to receive porn with or without plot. I'm cool with violence and horror, too. I'm a sucker for all character studies and portraits.
Also: Just because I've requested it for a shipping exchange doesn't mean I necessarily expect a happy ending (although that is good too!). Unrequited pining, fantasizing about the other, angst, can't-be-together-because-circumstances, fic where one mourns the other's death/leaving: it's all good.
I'm equally excited about all the pairings I've requested; don't worry that just because one pairing is particularly long or short, that's equivalent to how much I care for it.
Bellamy/Raven
I'd love to see something more substantial (doesn't have to be love) develop between them: a deeper level of intimacy, some kind of personal connection, the discovery of something they share (like the loss of their families, or that apparently both of their moms traded sex for resources/info/etc). I'd also love anything about their interactions with the environment/food/hunting or the Grounders (or the Ark coming down; but I'd prefer no focus on the mountain men's society - go AU if you want to). Hurt/comfort more than welcome.
Clarke/Raven
Clarke's "I'd choose you" pretty much sealed it for me: the love triangle is stupid, because obviously Clarke and Raven are meant for each other. ;) No, but really, I'd love to see them develop a friendship and have interactions that are not about Finn (although Finn being present, and either or both of the girls working through their issues with him in a non-bashing way, is cool - I'm not a hater). I'd also love anything about their interactions with the environment/food/hunting or the Grounders (or the Ark coming down; but I'd prefer no focus on the mountain men's society - go AU if you want to). Hurt/comfort more than welcome.
They are the only two pairings nominated for this fandom, and presumably if you matched on this fandom you'd have to offer both, so ... I hope I'm not being too much of a jerk if I said that, all else being equal, I prefer Annie/Eyal to Annie/Jai. But, that said, I really do ship both, and if you feel more inspired by a prompt for Annie/Jai, I'd prefer to read a story that the author was inspired to write. :)
Annie/Eyal
They have such great chemistry. I love the star-crossed thing they have going on, where they work for rival agencies and can't really be together even if the timing was good (remember how Annie couldn't date that one guy because he wasn't an American citizen or something??). I'd love to see anything about them working through their trust issues from later S3 and either, or both, defying their agencies in little ways, like how they have done to preserve what they could of their relationship (Annie copying the watch drive for Eyal, Eyal lying about where she lives to his superior). Feel free to emphasize more of their rivalry and conflict or more of their trust and alliance. Hurt/comfort would be great too, as would any spy-type tropes (undercover as a couple, sharing a bed on a mission, you and me against the world, falsely branded "rogue agent(s)" trying to clear their name(s), those kinds of things). Casefic would be great if that's something you enjoy writing. Finally, I'd also love to read about the real end of their careers where they really do get on that boat and just sail away.
Annie/Jai
I was really interested in their relationship during the first couple of seasons, especially as Jai acted as part of her cover for a while. I'd love to see more of that, maybe especially the tension between their fake working/romantic (either/or or both) relationship and their real one, or dealing with the nepotism/his ambition in the CIA vs. his father's. I think Annie and Jai could have had something really interesting had he not died; feel free to explore an AU where he wasn't killed in the car bomb and how that might have changed things as they worked through the problem and tried to solve it (I love what-if AUs). Hurt/comfort would be great too, as would any spy-type tropes (undercover as a couple, sharing a bed on a mission, you and me against the world, falsely branded "rogue agent(s)" trying to clear their name(s), those kinds of things). Casefic would be great if that's something you enjoy writing, too.
Finnick/Katniss
I was really inspired by their interactions in the movie, especially his "if we see something sweet, we better grab it" line (which I loved, and which pretty much ignited this ship for me; feel free to also be inspired by it!). For Hunger Games, I love what-if AUs that explore how things might have turned out differently. Something post-Games having to do with the Victors; some kind of canon AU like Peeta dying, 75th Games going differently, etc; it's all good. I see a darker, though not entirely without hope, possibility in this pairing--lots of anger, tension, and mistrust (on Katniss's part especially), but also the sense that they could really understand each other. Feel free to kill other characters to make this happen. A certain amount of unhappiness and angst is good, and natural given the canon, but I'd prefer it not be unrelenting grimdarkness.
Johanna/Katniss
Johanna's bitter snarkiness and not having anyone left for the Capitol to hurt! Katniss's self-preservation and protectiveness of the people she loves! For Hunger Games, I love what-if AUs that explore how things might have turned out differently. Something post-Games having to do with the Victors; some kind of canon AU like Peeta dying, 75th Games going differently, etc; it's all good. For Johanna and Katniss, I'd also love to see either/both dealing with PTSD and what it means to have won the games; pragmatism vs. idealism; who they need to be to survive vs. who they want to be; or Johanna feeling herself reluctantly being pulled back into the land of the caring by Katniss. Feel free to kill other characters. A certain amount of unhappiness and angst is good, and natural given the canon, but I'd prefer it not be unrelenting grimdarkness.
Astrid/John
They're just so sweet together; I loved all their interactions throughout the series. I'd love to see more of that, them helping each other out and giving each other advice and things growing from there. Or maybe their dates in the finale's two-week gap, where Astrid shows him around topside and John deals with what it means to be a regular human. I'd also be happy with something post-series, especially given the massive cliffhanger we were left with. Feel free to incorporate any of the ideas the show's creators had about the second season, like the time jump, or do your own thing.
Cara/John
I'd love to see something about their history pre-series, maybe the development of their relationship. Things seemed to change a lot when Stephen came around; what were they like before? They both seem like they were really isolated as kids and young adults by their respective upbringings; how did they learn to trust each other and have each other's backs? I'd also be happy with something post-series, especially given the massive cliffhanger we were left with. Like brainwashed-John's attempts to recruit Cara and her attempts to get his memory back. Feel free to incorporate any of the ideas the show's creators had about the second season, like the time jump, or do your own thing.
